1980s Does 1950s Multicoloured Plaid Gingham Shirtwaister Dress Deadstock
Stunning deadstock dress from JC Penney. Made in the early 1980s but everything about this dress; the silhouette, the tailoring and the fabric, scream classic 1950s.
She has gingham squares in red, purple, orange, green, blue, and yellow ones with a heavier navy check throughout. There are 4 navy buttons to the front of the bodice which has a revere collar and a short sleeve with a turn up cuff. The skirt of the dress is box pleated all the way around giving great fullness, and she can accommodate a full petticoat underneath. Made of a crisp polycotton blend, she has her original belt and belt loops. The collar is faced.
Couple of age marks on the inside of the belt only, not the fabric side, otherwise PRISTINE, as new condition.

Side seams are interlocked so there is no room for alteration but the hem is 2" deep and hand finished so could be made longer if required.
