1980s Does 1940s Velvet Trim Laura Ashley Style Floral Dress

This dress could easily be mistaken as a Laura Ashley piece, due to its mid-80s style that has become landmark for the brand.
From the boutique Kerena label, its quality is equally as good; featuring a muted floral print with a tapestry effect and sumptuous velvet trim in the cuffs, collar, and buttons. Artfully double-breasted with eight buttons, it can be worn either closed or open for a revere-style look. The long sleeves show off gathering and a subtle puff at the shoulder, harking back to 1940s glamour, and the double-breasted design nods to the 80s power dynamics, while also evoking the 'make-do-and-mend' ethos of the 40s when women transformed mens suits for themselves. A downward pointing waist again echoes the 80s influence, and the pleated skirt adds a fullness to complete the look.

It is the perfect seasonal transition dress.
