1950s Daisy Flocked Carousel Party Dress

Who doesn't love a lady in red? Especially in a dress as adorable as this one! Made in a delicate red sheer organza, this dress has a flocked daisy print throughout. Although the flocking has largely faded, (as is commensurate with flocking of this age), it still looks amazing, we just suspect the original color of the flock was pale pink against the striking red, and the effect now is almost like burnout.  It's more subtle and just as lush.

The dress is a good example of a carousel dress of the era with a flat panel to the front and gathered fullness around the sides.

There is a crossover seam at the bust and the bodice has a grown on cap sleeve. There is a back zip fastening in the centre back at the waist. The overdress is completely separate from the lining dress so could be worn over a black slip for contrast or even a different style of dress for fun! The under dress is made of acetate and has a side metal zip fastening.  This also could be used under a different overlay.  It would look amazing under black chiffon!

Aside from the flocking, both parts of this dress are in very good vintage condition, there are a couple of light marks to the lining that are only visible on the inside.
