Fun and unique, this 1950s patio dress features a dreamy Mexicana-inspired Aztec print sure to turn heads. Colourful in muted orangey-red, mustard yellow, and two blues, the piece boasts a cream lace-trimmed square neckline and bib. Supported with satin hem tape at the waist, the dress also has wide, floaty sleeves and a lapped zipper and hook-and-eye closure. Wear over a slip for modesty—or make a splash and go for it over a bathing suit!

Condition

Very good vintage condition.  The fabric is a sheer soft cotton blend. It has original thread belt loops but no belt sadly.  However this would look great with any wide stretch belt.

Measurements and details

All vintage clothing is measured with the garment flat and measurements doubled for width. Please compare these measurements to a garment that fits you well as often there is very little or no give in vintage fabrics.

A note on sizing for this dress - the bust is comparatively small compared to the waist. If you wear a size Clara and have a smaller cup size this may work for you, but we have sized this as a Bette as it's a better fit in the bust for most Bette and the waist can be cinched with a belt or left for a more relaxed fit.

Bust: 34 inches
Waist: 30 inches
Hips:  free
Length from shoulder to waist :16 inches
Waist to hem: 22 1/2 inches

There is no usable seam allowance for alterations but there is a generous 3 1/2" hem which could be lowered if desired.

Our model, Miss Amanda, usually wears a VV Size Clara (one size bigger than this dress) and is 5'9"/175cm tall.
