An exquisite Marilyn-influenced wiggle dress from the late '50s, featuring a very contemporary asymmetrical design. She boasts a classic hourglass form in a mid-century modern print of tonal squares and blocks. With short sleeves and a round neckline, the dress features press studs at the waist and top neck, preventing gaping.

Oversized fabric-covered buttons take centre stage; offset and heading downward to a modest split, providing ease of movement. Crafted from a lightweight, almost semi-sheer cotton fabric, you may wish to add a slip to this piece.

There are no labels in this dress to give us an indication of commercial construction but it is finished to a commercial standard for the era, so it's feasible any labels have been removed.  If it was made by a home sewer, they did so to an exceptional level.

Condition

Good condition with very minor issues.  There are 4 pin holes (approx 1mm in size) and 2 nibbles (approx 3mm in size) but all are hidden in the pattern of the fabric and not noticeable when worn.  We have super zoomed in/macro on these to show the flaws but they are very small indeed.  Nevertheless, this is reflected in the price. The whole garment has been properly treated by us and is otherwise in great condition.
