1940s Reverse Carve Lucite Flower Brooch

What a beautiful piece of 1940s style we have here; eyecatching and contemporary for its time, this is what is known as reverse carved lucite, where the feature is carved out and then the relief is painted from the reverse, giving a fascinating 3D appearance that really draws the eye. The gorgeous ombré effect in the colours of the petals and leaves almost makes it look like a real pressed flower.

In excellent condition, this statement piece measures 3.7cm wide and fastens with a sturdy C clasp on the back.
