1950s Pale Green Chiffon Prom Party Dress
A dream of a dress: what all your 1950s prom fantasies are made of. Romantic, rustling layers of fabric, a gorgeously full skirt, and flattering ruched, boned bodice give a classic sillhouette. The skirt is made of three layers, a stiff taffeta underlining for volume, net lining for a bit of flood, and a delicate chiffon overlay to give that magical, translucent effect. It has a back zip lapped metal zipper fastening and hook and thread eye fastening.
We love that there are so many ways to wear this lovely frock: the brocade straps can be worn on or off the shoulder, and there are two long long sash ties that fall from the top back zip. Let them drape at the back to flow when dancing, tie them in a bow for extra detail or wear them around your shoulders to the front to act as a shawl.
Put this on and float onto the dance floor, ready to break hearts and take names.
Professionally handmade to a high standard. We have done some sympathetic restoration to this darling. There remains one or two age spots on taffeta lining, invisible when worn. A few small snags on chiffon overlay skirt commensurate with age, also invisible when worn.
