1950s Chocolate Velvet Continentals Cocktail Party Dress
This 1950s cocktail dress offers a timeless elegance, crafted with a deep chocolate velvet fabric and a squared off neckline. A fuller skirt with a contrast rayon scallop border detailing further enhances the look, complete with contrast bows on the skirt and back. The dress is finished with rayon facing at the neck and arms, and a lapped metal zipper on the back. The dress is perfect for any formal event, boasting a truly opulent appearance.
Note of Interest
The Continentals label was part of the British Berkertex company and the designs for this label were produced through the 1950s and 1960s to an exacting standard and quality that was considered higher than their regular lines and was intended for the European market where the customer was a little more discerning and a little less conservative. Continentals was distributed in Spain, Germany and Paris, France.
Excellent condition, our only note is the bows are a little dull. They could be brightened up by removing, washing and reattaching but actually don't detract as they are.
