1980s Top Shop Velvet & Tafetta Prom Dress

Truly a timeless throwback, this piece is a fine example of the ONLY style of prom dress seen in the mid-late 80s, but was certainly inspired by prom dresses from the 1950s. Produced predominantly in different colourways by two British brands: Top Shop and Laura Ashley, this version is from the former.

Crafted with a black cotton velvet boned bodice, a full gathered red taffeta skirt with stunning shine, and a black under netting for a little volume and movement, this strapless dress with sweetheart cups is fully lined at the bodice and fastens at the back with a zipper.
