1960s Floral Brocade Shirtwaister Dress

This is a gloriously kitch and super cute dress from the mid 1960s.  It features a button through front to the waist, wide pointed collar, short sleeves and box pleats to the skirt all the way around.  Finished with a lapped zipper to the side. The fabric is a good weight brocade with a raise lattice in white, and a colourful print of very retro flowers in teals, blues, greens, purple and orange. The buttons are pale yellow plastic and the buttonholes are hand-bound.

Exceptional condition.  Presents immaculately with no flaws.

MEASUREMENTS

All vintage clothing is measured with the garment flat and measurements doubled for width. Please compare these measurements to a garment that fits you well as often there is very little or no give in vintage fabrics.

• Bust - 36.5" (92.5cm)
• Waist - 30" (76cm)
• Hips - 39"(99cm)
• Cuff - 11" (28cm)

Our model, Miss Fern, normally wears a size Audrey and is 5'9" tall.

Please note we take all measurements in inches and provide a conversion to centimetres to the nearest 0.5cm for your reference.

SEAMS & ALTERATIONS

There is a 1"(3cm) hem which could be lowered by 5/8th" (2cm) if desired. There is a generous back seam in the bodice totalling 1.5" (4cm) which could also be let out for more bust room. The side seam without the zip has a 2" (5cm) seam. There are also bust and waist darts. It would be possible to add one pocket if desired.
