1970s Embroidered Mister Sig Hostess Maxi Dress With Union Label
This timeless dress was crafted in the mid-late 70s by Mister Sig, a division of Leading Fashions (WPL13692) and has the original union label on the inseam.
She is a long black maxi with a modernist twist, featuring diamond-shaped embroidery in alternating red and pale gold/straw colours, each encasing a floral motif on the centre in the contrast colour. She has a high neck, long sleeves, and a lapped zipper at the back and the underarms feature internal waterproof inset guards to prevent staining and discoloration - genius! The flattering princess seams draw attention to the offset crystal-encrusted 4 button feature and leg slit at the side. Her quality and style evoke questions of what events she attended. From house parties (perhaps even Abigail's!), to receptions, to fondue gatherings; this dress was made for an unforgettable experience. Divinely elegant.
