1960s Cotton Ruffle Scooter Shift Dress
This sunny '60s dress is a total hoot; a bright yellow cotton-linen blend shift with blue and yellow gingham ruffles at the boat-shaped neck which are mirrored on the hem.
Plus, there's an adorable bow detail on the front and a lapped metal zipper in the back!
(Please note our model is two sizes smaller than this frock, so it's too big for her.)
Condition
There is some very faint colour fading on the sides of the dress (see close-up pics) but not noticeable when on. Otherwise in good vintage condition.
Measurements and details
All vintage clothing is measured with the garment flat and measurements doubled for width. Please compare these measurements to a garment that fits you well as often there is very little or no give in vintage fabrics.
Bust: 38 inches
Waist: 37 inches
Hips: 42 inches
Length from shoulder to hem 36 inches (1 more inch available)
There is a good amount of seam allowance for alterations, but if you wish to adjust the hem the ruffle would need to come off, the hem altered and then put back on. The shoulders of the dress have been stitch tacked to reduce them by 1", if let down this would give more space at the neckline, lower the bust darts and add 1" to total length. (We can do this for you free of charge if desired, just leave a note at checkout or contact us after purchase.)
Our model, Miss Fern, is 5'9"/175cm tall and usually wears a VV size Audrey (2 sizes smaller than this garment).
