1940s Provençal Rose Shirt Dress
This is an incredible find from the 1940s in an original print from Simplicity.
It's a really crisp quality high weave cotton of great quality - rarely seen today.
It has a stunning provençal rose print which we think is very like a Cath Kidston print (who took a lot of her inspiration from vintage garments).
The shape is a classic shirt waister but with some really special details, including a double Alice collar feature, strong contrasting kelly green binding in the collar, neckline, armholes and pockets, (YES, IT HAS POCKETS!), hand-finished loop detailing trim, hand-bound button holes and 8 red coated wood buttons.
Condition
Exceptional.
