It's hard to find words to describe this particular kind of incredible, but it makes our hearts fill with desire.

This dress coat is definitely from a couture house in the late 1950s and although there are no labels within, the construction, hand finishing and detail makes it a stand-out couture, designer piece. Likely made-to-order for the original owner.

The baby blue and gold sparkling brocade is exquisite, and the entire garment is lined in baby blue pure silk. The bodice has princess seams, a revere collar and fastens at the waist with a single hidden hook and eye fastening that is overlayed by a fabric swirl detailing on a single press stud. The skirt is full with invert box pleating all the way around for exquisite fullness and couture precision. *Swoon*

Condition

Outer - Excellent condition, immaculate.  The lining has a couple of marks and yellowing commensurate with age on the back and in the under arm areas but silk is strong with no signs of weakness or shattering. Brocade is as shiny as it would have been new.  This has been a much treasured, rarely worn piece.
